The PESCV Chair presents the programme of the “Thinking of Economic Policy” Meeting. The event will take place on Tuesday, 29 September in the 2P04 Pilar Tamborero classroom, located on the second floor at the Faculty of Economics. The event will be also available in Zoom with the 181441 password.
The opening ceremony will be from 9:15 to 9:30, undertaken by Francisco Muñoz Murgui, Dean of the Faculty of Exconomics, and by Antonio Sánchez Andrés, Head of the Chair for Economic and Social Policy of the Valencian Region.
From 9:30 to 11:00, the Area 1 will be developed, and it will be focused on “Thinking of economic policy and socialisms”. This session includes the "El pensamiento económico de los socialismos" (“The economic thinking of socialisms”) lecture, given by Pablo Cervera, and the "Pensamiento económico y creación de la planificación soviética" (“Economic thinking and the creation of the Soviet planning”) lecture by Antonio Sánchez. The session will be moderated by Margarita Rohr.
From 11:00 to 11:30 there will be a pause for the Coffee Break.
The Area 2 will be carried out from 11:30 to 13:00, and it is titled “The origin of the thinking of economic policy”. This session will tackle "Papel del estado y economía desde una perspectiva católica: Johannes Messner" (“Role of the government and the economy from a catholic perspective: Johannes Messner”, by Alejandro Brisó, and "El nacimiento de la Política Económica: Rau" (The birth of Economic Policy: Rau), by Ferran Moncho. This table will be moderated by Aurelia Mañé.
From 13:00 to 14:30, the Area 3 will be held, focused on “New thinking trends of the economic policy in the 19th century”. The topics tackled will be: "Políticas de nacionalizaciones en el siglo XIX" (“Nationalization policies in the 19th century”), by Tristan Ferreira, and the "Progresividad fiscal en Europa a finales del siglo XIX (Inglaterra y Francia)" (“Progressive taxation in Europe in the late 19th century (England and France)”), by Javier San Julián. Ángel Soler will be in charge for the moderation.
The Lunch will take place from 14:30 to 16:00.
From 16:00 to 17:30, the Area 4 will be developed, and it will be focused on “Current challenges in the thinking of economic policy.” It will include the following lectures: "Políticas económicas, desigualdad y ultraderecha en Europa" (“Economic policies, inequity, and extreme right in Europe”), given by Ana Mar Bueno, and "Neoliberalismo y democracia" (“Neoliberalism and democracy”), by Juan Carlos Palacios. It will be moderated by Luz Ramírez.
De 17:30 a 18:30 se ofrecerá la Conferencia de clausura titulada "Política económica y comportamiento empresarial: de Keynes a Schumpeter", impartida por Miguel Ángel Galindo y moderada por Antonio Sánchez.
From 17:30 to 18:30, there will be a Closing conference titled "Política económica y comportamiento empresarial: de Keynes a Schumpeter" (“Economic policy and business behaviour: from Keynes to Schumpeter”, undertaken by Miguel Ángel Galindo and moderated by Antonio Sánchez.
The Closing ceremony will be from 18:30 to 19:00 and it will be conducted by Antonio Sánchez Andrés, Head of the Chair for Economic and Social Policy of the Valencian Region.
The event is organised by the Chair for Economic and Social Policy of the Valencian Region, and it features a subsidy by the Generalitat Valenciana.
