Get to know La Petxina and València’s Model Prison with the Alumni UV Collective

On Saturday 18th January, the Alumni UV Collective will visit La Petxina complex and the Model Prison of València. A visit that includes the guide, specialist in art history, Toni Rodrigo and lunch. Registration begins in January 7th and Fil-per-Randa should be directly phoned. The reservation can also be made on their website.

Cast-iron architecture.  Restored industrial heritageInaugurated in 1902, La Petxina slaughterhouse is compounded by a series of  iconic buildings that represent Valencian industrial architecture. The style follows the architectural rationalism with certain modernist influences. It was operating as a slaughterhouse until 1969. After 34 years of inactivity, on 8th May 2003 it became a leisure and cultural centre.

Gathering at 10 am, in the Sports Centre La Petxina (Passeig de la Petxina, 42). The visit to the facilities includes: sports centre, spa, Institute of Sports Medicine, climbing wall, indoor athletics tracks, gym, swimming pool, assembly hall, garden and library. Next, a visit to the Model Prison of València.

The price of the tour is €15 and includes guide and lunch. Remember to always carry your Alumni Card. In all tours and visits, if the entrance tickets must be paid, it means that they are not included.
