Panel discussion moderated by Maribel Acosta after her lecture with the participation of María Palau Galdón, journalist and researcher, and Alba Pascual Benlloch, audiovisual producer and part of the La Cosecha Comunicación team.

Archives in general and photographs in particular play a crucial role in the construction of memory. They serve as a starting point for questioning or reinterpreting history, opening the way to new narratives. Photographs not only function as memory exercises, but also as tools for intergenerational dialogue and the construction of contemporary identities. The experience of projects such as Álbum de familia and Maferefun Eggun at the University of Havana, Cuba, exemplifies this process. In both cases, it is young people who make theirs the stories of the past, re-signify them and connect them to their current realities. This process not only enriches their historical understanding, but also allows them to develop a critical and creative voice in the present, thus contributing to the formation of a dynamic and constantly evolving collective memory.
