Under the names ‘Lessons from experience: cultural management before current challenges’ and ‘The territorial perspective of culture: a look from the rural’, the Cultural Observatory of the Universitat de València organizes two round tables this month of February. They will be held Tuesday 6 and Thursday 29, respectively. Both will take place in the Aula Magna of the La Nau Cultural Centre at 18:00, with necessary free of charge registration.
In ‘Lessons from experience: cultural management before current challenges’, the necessary tools to carry out work in cultural management will be examined, as well as the way digital skills, knowledge about the territory, or the issue of genre are fundamental for this profession today.
The speakers of the round table, which will be moderated by Raúl Abeledo, Head of Initiatives at the Cultural Observatory of the UV, are José Ayelo Pérez, director of KAKV-Villena and member of Gestió Cultural; Amparo Puig Falcó, cultural manager and performing arts producer; Alicia Garijo, director of the Arniches Theatre and FRESCA! festival in Alicante, as well as territorial delegate at the Cultural Institute of Valencia of the Valencian Government; José María Bullón, cultural engineer at the Almussafes Town Hall (since 1986) and chairman of Gestió Cultural and the Valencian Culture Professionals Association; and Francesc Tamarit, former director of L’Etno, Valencian Museum of Ethnology.
In the round table ‘The territorial perspective of culture: a look from the rural’, the way the presence of culture at the core of rural town halls has spontaneously achieved a connection with territorial issues, opening spaces for participation for audiences with other sensitivities will be analysed.
Benito Burgos, organiser of the Citizenship and Rurality programme of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, will give the main lecture and will be the moderator of the table, in which Silvia Colom, Mayor of Vilafranca del Cid Town Council; Sergi Vidal, Mayor of Potries Town Council; Jordi Puig, Mayor of Rótova Town Council; Pedro Altabert Martínez, Mayor of Carrícola Town Council; and José Manuel Vila Oltra, councillor for Art and Culture in Riba-roja de Túria Town Council will be participating.
Both activities have the collaboration of the Valencia City Council and Caixa Popular.
