Alfredo García Prats, Professor of Financial and Tax Law at the Universitat de València and Head of the ETICCs Research Group, will participate in the 2024 International Tax Conference – ‘Taxation of Trusts, Foundations and Similar Figures in a Global Environment’, which will take place on 23 and 24 May 2024 in Vaduz (Liechtenstein).
The world today faces many economic and political uncertainties. These uncertainties bring the debate about asset protection to the forefront. In particular, the debate around the use of trusts, foundations and similar arrangements is becoming critical, as such arrangements have been used for decades as important asset protection tools. In addition, the current international tax landscape continues to evolve, which could have a significant impact on the use of asset protection mechanisms. In this context, the 2024 International Tax Conference – Taxation of Trusts, Foundations and Similar Arrangements in a Global Environment, will be held in Vaduz, Liechtenstein on 23 and 24 May.
The primary objective of the project is to conduct a comprehensive examination of the various international tax challenges posed by these mechanisms, especially in a cross-border context.
