On 2 October 2019, the Chair for Linguistic Rights organised the symposium 'The impact of the Digital Revolution on minority languages' at the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia.

This training day began with a presentation by the Vice-Dean of Economics, Planning and Relations of the Faculty of Law, Lourdes Ferrando, and the Director of the Chair, Vicenta Tasa.

Three different speakers took part, firstly, Maite Melero, PhD in Computational Linguistics, who gave the lecture "The future of non-hegemonic languages in the digital era". Secondly, Claudia Soria, researcher at the Institute for Computational Linguistics A.Zampoli, gave a lecture entitled "Lingue minoritarie e mondo digitale: sciagura o benedizione?". Finally, Lluis de Yzaguirre, professor at the Pompeu Fabra University, gave the lecture "From minority language to lucrative language? The case of Catalan".

The event was held in room 1P01 of the Department of Constitutional Studies and was a very educational activity in which we were able to draw conclusions about the importance of minority languages in the digital world.
