UV Chair for a New Green Transition

To achieve sustainable housing and urban environments in the context of ecological transition, policies must be promoted across various productive sectors. This approach will enable a focus on reconstruction, economic policies, and labour policies that have a cross-cutting impact on sustainable development commitments. Both institutions recognise the urgent need to address the serious issues of global warming and climate change by committing to ecological transition and environmental sustainability. They demand that the main economic sectors of the Valencian Community and the Spanish State integrate ‘green policies.’ They also recognise that tourism is a key sector for the development of the Valencian economy, with a significant impact on the environment. In the context of reconstruction, the focus is on reflecting and analysing the situation and managing the impacts of tourism on the Valencian environment, both urban and rural. The aim is to propose development policies for the sector that are eco-sustainable.
