
From 17 to 30 June, the Inter-University Institute, through the Interdisciplinary Research Structure (ERI) for Sustainability of the Universitat de València, held an International Seminar on Territory and Environmental Education in collaboration with the University of Quindío in Colombia.
This activity arose as a result of the activities developed by the ERI for Sustainability with the Colombian University with which there is a collaboration agreement. The team of the Chair for a New Green Transition of the UV, led by Aurora Pedro, attended the seminar.
The inauguration was led by Professor José Manuel Rodríguez Victoriano of the ERI for Sustainability, representing the López Piñero Institute, and was coordinated by Professors Javier García Gómez and Ignacio García Ferrandis from the UV and Professors Ligia Janeth Molina Rico and Alba Leonilde Suárez Arias from the University of Quindío.
Professors from the aforementioned institutions and other Colombian universities, such as the Technological University of Pereira and the University of Cauca, and of Honduras, as well as from the Department of Experimental and Social Sciences Education, Social Work and Tourism, are taking part. They will address topics such as "Rural women and the coffee cultural landscape", "Teachers' social and cultural representations of water", "Territorial training from higher education", "Tourism and the environment" or "Territorial transformations and ecosystem services in Armenia (Quindío-Colombia)".
In addition, field activities were programmed in l'Horta de València and in the Devesa de la Albufera, to address the issue of territory from an educational point of view.
