Analysis of microbial cellular fatty acid composition (MIDI)
Brand: Gas chromatograph Agilent 6850
Type: Techniques, Equipment
Type: Techniques, Equipment
Determination of the cellular fatty acid composition of microbial strains using gas chromatography.
Description
The fatty acid composition of microbial strains is obtained in an automated manner by gas chromatographic analysis of Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME).
The MIDI system (Sherlock Microbial Identification System) allows the identification of strains of species included in the library, as well as the phenotypic characterisation of microorganisms.
Practical implementation
- Microbial identification.
- Microbial characterisation.
Quality certifications
ISO 9001:2015
Terms of use
The user must send an active culture of each strain (triple streak seeded Petri dish in the case of prokaryotes and yeasts; slant agar tube is also accepted in the case of filamentous fungi).
