Virtual Classroom blocks in Moodle are elements that function as quick links, like sticky notes but in digital format, so that useful information is available at a quick glance. These blocks usually appear on the right hand side of our Virtual Classroom and/or courses, but they can also appear in the bottom centre or in the top centre.
To add these blocks in our personal area or in a course for which we have editing permissions, we have to click on the top right hand side of the screen and select "Customise this page" or "Enable editing" (in case we want to customise the blocks in a course).
At the bottom of the blocks we will see the option "Add a block" where we will see the list of available blocks that we can add to our page according to our preferences or needs.
Blocks are items that can be added to the left, right or centre column of any Moodle page. Blocks can also be added to the centre of the page in your personal area. Blocks can be made to be in the centre of the page as well. These blocks can be edited from our personal area or in a course where we have editing permissions. By clicking on customise our page we can move these blocks or add more from the list of available blocks.
Below is an example of blocks added to the right (1) but also one of the blocks added to the centre of the page (2).
To move or redistribute blocks, enable the edit mode and click and drag the cross located to the left of the gear in the different panels. In this way, the information can be redistributed and rearranged as we wish.
