On the occasion of International Trans Day of Visibility, and within the new cycle of conferences initiated by Diversitats, a conference on the university as an inclusive space has been programmed.

The conference addresses two issues. One: how to imagine inclusive spaces both for trans people and for the bulk of the sex-gender diversities which speak out in support of their rights. This includes to communicate the idea that human rights are not a zero-sum game and that the advance of one group does not imply the retreat of others. Two: these concepts must necessarily be taken to educational spaces. Problems such as bullying show universities are still far from being inclusive and safe spaces. In light of this, it will be addressed the question of the universities' role in the creation of a human-rights-based culture that fosters inclusive spaces.

The conference will be given by Siobhan F. Guerrero Mc Manus, biologist and philosopher of science, and researcher at UNAM's CEIICH.

The event will be online on Wednesday 31 March at 17h through BB Collaborate.
