Under the name “Vino y Sociedad” (“Wine and Society”), the Universitat de València presents the fourth edition of Seasonal University of Requena, the result of a close collaboration between the UV, the Town Council of Requena, the Valencian Provincial Council and Caixa Popular Bank. As in previous editions, the IV-UNIRE serves as a meeting point for teachers, professionals, students, and the citizens of Requena in their regional environment on the afternoon of 9 November 2023.

Following the positive reception of the inaugural edition in 2020 (Innovación, cultura, mujer y sociedad), the successful second edition in 2021 (La química en la vinificación) and the growth of the third edition in 2022 (Vinos de ayer y hoy), we look forward to this fourth edition in which we dive deeper into the culture of wine from a sociological perspective. Special attention will be paid to the debate section of this year’s event, made up of contrasting opinion leaders, that will end with a tasting of the wines discussed.

Several members of the teaching and research staff from the UV, as well as hospitality professionals will participate in the event, as well as experts from the wine sector in the region, who are committed to the territory and to the production of quality wines.

The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, promotes this free academic event, open to the public, that supports training, research and knowledge transfer in the region and city of Requena.
