The Universitat de València, committed to the territory and Valencian society, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, presents the 7th Edition of the Autumn University of Sagunto (17 and 18 November 2022). This is possible thanks to the close collaboration with the Sagunto City Council, the Valencian Provincial Council and Caixa Popular.

The aim is to create a space for reflection and initiative around the heritage that surrounds and defines Sagunto society, incorporating the voices of the social and productive fabric in its diversity of actors and sectors. The reflection revolves around how to combine cultural heritage in the strategies of progress and improvement of the living conditions of the population.

“The cultural heritage of Sagunto as a battery of social and territorial regeneration” is a free and open access conference with the participation of specialists and representatives of civil society to advance in lines of dialogue and agreement that channel cultural heritage into a structuring reference for local and social development. The topics proposed are added to the series of debates that have been proposed by the dynamic group of entities and organisations of all kinds that, for decades, have been concerned with exercising and making known the strategic capacity that cultural heritage offers us to harmonise the future of the population towards better quotas of human and sustainable development.

The Universitat de València, faithful to its commitment to the territory and local Valencian society, promotes this academic action, linked to training, research and knowledge transfer, which aims to consolidate in the city of Sagunto and the Camp de Morvedre. This is possible thanks, among other things, to the commitment of the Sagunto City Council to promote these actions in the area.
