On Friday March the 25th, at 7 p.m., the book launching of "Espacio y jerarquía. Apuntes para una geometría radical" by Vicente Ordóñez Roig will take place. The event will be held at the Pilar Faus Public Library and, in addition to the author, Salvador Cuenca i Almenar, PhD in Philosophy from the UV, will participate.

A controversial, openly polemical and transversal essay, "Espacio y jerarquía. Apuntes para una geometría radical" (Spanish for Space and hierarchy. Notes for a radical geometry) tackles a thorny issue: the constitution of power groups in academic institutions. The author proposes to analyse it, moreover, from the project of a radical geometry, that is, from a poetic technique that understands space not as an epistemological structure that makes possible the appearance, settlement and proliferation of an elite that overdetermines scientific research, but as the way of perceiving life through the material extension of bodies and things that pass or are. Politics, mathematics, poetry or metaphysics intertwine in the pages of an essay born with a dialogical vocation that, nevertheless, offers uncomfortable repose. The aim of these pages is not so much to control as to de-control discourses; not so much to set the course as to disorientate navigation; not so much to regulate as to deregulate research programmes... Radical geometry approaches reality by means of tentative approximations that are never definitive: the unfractured nature of things, the indispensable basic scepticism and the non-permanence in the history of ideas demand from those who think from here the virtue of irony with oneself and with one's product.
