Making books is an ancient craft that incorporates a centuries-old tradition to the modernisation that the new times invite. And the fact is that the university, since its origins, has maintained an indissoluble link with books. Today, the information and knowledge society has made it necessary to reformulate processes, tasks, media and even relationships, what we can call the "kitchen" of books, in order to adapt to the publishing "revolution". The human factor, accumulated knowledge and technology combine with the specific aspects of university publishing to give rise to what is today PUV, the publishing imprint of the Universitat de València. Our centenary is an ideal opportunity to unravel the temporal thread and ask ourselves about the signs of identity of an essential service that contributes to fulfilling one of the fundamental missions of the institution. With "Cent anys fent llibres", a slogan also coined for the centenary of the publishing house, we open wide the doors of Publicacions de la Universitat de València, we invite you to go through our trajectory and to participate in the history that we have yet to make.
