The presentation of Desterrats per ordre de Carles III. El llarg exili dels jesuïtes valencians (‘Exiled by the order of Charles III of Spain. The long exile of the Valencian Jesuits’) will take place on Thursday, 6 June at 7:30pm. The event will take place at El Micalet Choral Society and will be presented by the book author Francesc J. Monjo Dalmau and PUV Editor Amparo Jesús-Maria.

In 1767, the 190 Jesuits living in the former Kingdom of Valencia suffered the consequences of the event that shook Catholic Europe in the 18^th century: the expulsion of the Jesuit Order from the territory of Charles III of Spain. Thanks to the documentary sources, it has been possible to reconstruct the events of the initial harassment of the Valencian clerics, the subsequent expulsion and the involuntary exile in Corsica and Italy, and finally the return to Valencian lands 49 years later.
