Since the generalisation of structural adjustment plans in Sub-Saharan Africa in the 1980s, different models of development Africa during the 1980s, different models of economic policy have been applied, which have failed to bring about the necessary structural change that would open the way to development. The seminar will examine these different economic policy models, with an emphasis on the role of the IMF and the current external the current crisis of external indebtedness suffered by many countries on the continent.
