The Universitat de València takes the institutional presentation of the Chair for Climate Change, Territory and Environmental Risks in the Mediterranean, a reflexive space and scientific transparency dedicated to confront the big environmental and territorial challenges from the Mediterranean area in a climate crisis context.

The Chair is defined by a firm compromise with scientific knowledge, social responsibility and institutional cooperation. Its main purpose is analysing and disseminating the impacts of climate change about the territory, people and economy in the Mediterranean, offering useful tools for decision making.

In the act two recent works linked to the field will be presented:

• Evidencias científicas, efectos, estrategias y políticas públicas sobre cambio climático y territorio en el Mediterráneo Ibérico (Universitat de València publications)
• Cambio Climático y territorio en el Mediterráneo Ibérico (Tirant lo Blanch Editorial)

Both books are directed and coordinated by the professors Joan Romero and Ana Camarasa, full university professors of the UV and also directors of the new Chair.

The works take the main conclusions of the 1st Conference by Experts about Climate change and territory, celebrated on 2025, that aspires to be the first of a series of biennial conferences about the problem of climate change in the Mediterranean territories.
