The Muralla Hall of the Principal Peset Hall of Residence will host the exhibition “The Art of Resistance | Ukrainian artists for peace”.
This project, which began in May in the city of Algemesí, is curated by Svitlana Davydenko, Ukrainian curator of the Objects Art Prize, Daryna Skrynnyk-Myska, professor at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, and Alejandro Villar and Aneta Vasileva, from the Universitat de València, who have been in charge of establishing a bridge between young Ukrainian artists and Valencian society, through the universal language of art, keeping their creative activity active as a resistance exercise to the invasion of Putin's troops.
The last piece of this project and perhaps the most decisive is the exhibition “The Art of Resistance | Ukrainian artists for peace”, the curators of the exhibition have managed to get out of Ukraine during the war and bring to Valencia a selection of original works. Works by young Ukrainian artists, who use various languages from painting to video installation.
Art as a means of expression. Keeping artistic activity alive is an action of resistance that seeks new channels of visibility that reveal themselves in the face of the deliberate campaign of terror through art. The activity of museums, theatres and universities that do not succumb to the silence imposed by barbarism.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 6 October to 30 October 2022, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the Muralla Hall of the Principal Peset Hall of Residence of the Universitat de València (Plaza del Horno de San Nicolas, 4. València).
