The Cátedra Demetrio Ribes (UVEG-CHOPVT) organizes in the Museu de la Ciutat de València (plaça de l’Arquebisbe, 3, València) the III Workshop of Interdisciplinary Studies of Public Works: «Arches and conduits: contributions to the history of hydraulic engineering». Days 16 and 17 of April in afternoon session. April 16, 7:00 pm is inaugurated in the same museum the exhibition "Rius per l'aire. Aqüeductes of the Comunitat Valenciana", commissary by Luis Arciniega García, professor of the Department of Art History at the University of Valencia.

Days 16 and 17 of April in afternoon session.
The control of water uses constitutes a human milestone around the human capacity to create infrastructures. In this sense, the Valencian territory presents notorious vestiges since antiquity, some famous, others unknown. Coming from different disciplines, from different specialties, will address the heterogeneous constructions of hydraulic engineering that once organized the use of water, without neglecting the impact it generated in later cultures. The seminar, free and open to the public, includes the opening and visit to the exhibition «Rius per l'aire. Aqüeductes of the Comunitat Valenciana», commissary by Luis Arciniega García, professor of the Department of Art History at the University of Valencia. The objective of the exhibition is to present about thirty of the most representative aqueducts in the Valencian territory and place them in their cultural dimension. The exhibition will be open from April 16 to July at the Museu de la Ciutat de València.
