The GINFICO Group was recognized in February 2024 by the Vice-Rectorate for Lifelong Learning, Teaching Transformation and Employment of the Universitat de València, with the distinction of Consolidated Educational Innovation Group in Corporate Finance, in recognition of its academic, teaching, and innovation trajectory.

The objectives of this teaching innovation group are twofold. First, it seeks the systematic integration of sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the course syllabi of the subjects taught by its members, as well as their implementation through active methodologies focused on collaborative learning and teamwork. This approach is developed within virtual learning environments and from a transversal and interdisciplinary perspective, aimed at the quantification and assessment of sustainability-related actions in the field of corporate finance. Second, the group aims to create and consolidate a knowledge network in Sustainable Finance through inter-university collaboration, fostering the exchange of teaching and research experiences between the Universitat de València and other higher education institutions, with the purpose of generating synergies and progressively expanding this network.

Furthermore, the GINFICO Group promotes the development of both theoretical and practical competencies among students within the framework of sustainable development, through curricular transversality and inter-university interaction. In addition, it encourages the acquisition of a pseudo-professional experience through the formation of work teams structured according to scientific, methodological, and academic rigor criteria.

Within this context, the methodological integration of artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools is explicitly incorporated, aimed at enhancing teaching and learning processes, financial data analytics, and the assessment of sustainability impacts. The use of these tools is approached from an ethical, critical, and responsible perspective, fostering advanced digital competencies among students, as well as their ability to assess the quality, reliability, and potential biases of generated information. To this end, clear guidelines are established regarding the appropriate use of AI in the academic context, aligned with the principles of academic integrity, transparency, data protection, and respect for intellectual property.

This working philosophy is intended to generate impact on two main stakeholder groups. On the one hand, students, for whom training activities are designed to support the acquisition of both general and specific knowledge related to the SDGs, as well as the development of associated transversal competencies. These activities are implemented across various undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València, with the intention of extending them to other universities in the future. On the other hand, faculty members, for whom a specific training offer is envisaged, targeting both the members of the project team and the broader teaching staff of the faculty, through the organization of seminars, workshops, and specialized conferences.
