SEMINAR(i): Host-parasite interaction networks: insights into biological invasions.

WHO?: Cristina Llopis (ICBiBE - University of Valencia).

LANGUAGE?: English.

WHEN?: Thursday 25/02/2020 - 12:00 am.

WHERE?: Online (Zoom platform)

ABSTRACT:

Biological interactions are key drivers of ecological and evolutionary processes. However, the establishment of non-native species in a community might threaten extant interactions and, therefore, disrupt ecosystem functioning. The complexity of such interactions hinders our understanding of ecological systems and our ability to make effective predictions in changing environments, such as in an invasion context. Network analysis allows us to better tackle the complexity of ecosystems, to understanding and predicting how these interactions happen, and to minimise the impact of non-native species.
