The nuclear magnetic resonance section of the SCSIE comprises all the technical and human resources available to provide the possibilities of NMR to support research, both to members of the University of Valencia and other research centres and companies.

There are four 500 MHz, 400 MHz, 300 MHz, and 400 MHz (WB) spectrometers. They allow performing a wide range of experiments on liquid or solid samples, with the support and advice of the technical staff.

The spectrometers have different types of probes and applications, with magnetic field gradients, low temperature accessories, etc. which allow carrying out a wide variety of experiments, with the support of the technical staff.

The 400WB spectrometer, with wide-mouth magnet and specific configuration for solids, has two probes (4 and 7 mm) to obtain spectra of solid state samples, at magic angle spinning (MAS), as well as cross-polarisation experiments (CP-MAS).

This equipment allows users to obtain one-dimensional spectra of many chemical elements (1H, 13C, 19F, 31P, 11B, 29Si, 27Al, etc.) at room temperature or a temperature ranging from -100ºC to 150ºC. It also allows to perform two-dimensional experiments, both homonuclear  and heteronuclear (HSQC, HMBC, etc.)
