 The pilot section of aquariums of the SCSIE was created in 2003 with the objective of making available to interested users (research teaching institutions or private entities) the facilities, cultivation techniques and maintenance services of aquatic species, both from freshwater and sea water, necessary for the development of these projects that require testing with this type of biota.
The management system of the pilot section is certified by ENAC as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2000.


Companies, researchers, research groups, universities, hospitals, research centres, that work in issues related to Biology, Pharmacy, Agro-food or Aquaculture and that need testing in the area of ecology, parasitology, microbiology, pathology and nutrition.

The species with which we work are freshwater species such as: trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), eel (Anguillaa Anguilla), crayfish (Procambarus clarkia), lacustrine plants; saltwater species such as; sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax), gilthead (Sparus aurata), turbot (Psetta maximum), sole (Solea senegalensis), bluegill (Pagellus bogaraveo), sheepshead seabream (Diplodus hoot), yellowtail (Seriola dumerilii), octopus (Octopus vulgaris), oyster (Crassotrea gigas), as well as with ornamental fish species.
