The FORTHEM Campus on Diversity and Migration is the third FORTHEM Campus and will take place in Palermo (Sicily), host city of the University of Palermo, during the first semester of the academic year 2022-2023 (26 September 2022 to 24 February 2023).

The activity is aimed at students enrolled in certain specialisations at the time of application and during the mobility period. Please consult the selection criteria to participate in this FORTHEM initiative. More detailed information can be provided by the school mobility coordinator. Applications must be made through the online application form. Please consult the detailed information in the bases beforehand in order to complete the registration properly.

The deadline for applications is 26 June at 23:59.

The main objective of this FORTHEM Campus, organised by the Diversity and Migration Lab, is to analyse contemporary migratory movements, starting from the European context and then extending to other nearby areas, with a research orientation that focuses on a resource-based vision of the political options of the different national, regional and local institutions. All this, while considering the emergence and development of public/private networks that also involve the most active elements of the newly arrived populations and following a participatory and pluralistic approach, involving external subjects, municipal and regional departments and individuals such as immigrants, voluntary associations and NGOs. Students will have a central role and the laboratory will provide them with experience in this field.

This is a semester programme of a minimum duration of 3 months and 30 ECTS, organised each time by the university leading the corresponding research laboratory. Each Campus has a different thematic focus, with different activity modules and courses taught by faculty from Alliance universities. Financed by Erasmus funds, unlike an ordinary ERASMUS stay, the FORTHEM Campus offers a block of regulated courses, seminars, workshops, etc. in various areas of knowledge and is eligible for recognition.
