Fòrum de Debats of the Universitat de València starts today,Monday 12, the programming for this year with the writer specialised in environmental ethics, Jorge Riechmann, who will give a conference at Cultural Centre La Nau, entitled “Is it still possible to do what we should have done?” “transition or collapse?” it will be at 19:00 in Aula Magna.

The poet, essayist and professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid will address the human impact on the climate, following the latest report by the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Climate Change (IPCC by its Spanish initials), which was presented last November.

This report, which involved the most comprehensive assessment done on this topic with the participation of over 800 scientists, concluded that if there is a will, we have the means to limit climate change; the key is to reduce carbon emissions between 40 to 70% worldwide between 2010 and 2050.

Admission is free and limited to the capacity of the room.

On Thursday 15, in the same place and time, and in the frame of Fòrum de Debats programming, a solidarity poetry recital will take place, “Bringing shores II” (Acercando orillas II).
