The Demetrio Ribes Chair in collaboration with the Valencian Department of Housing, Public Works and Planning inaugurates a week full of events inside the project “Cinemaway. La obra Pública en el cine”, whose content covers on this occasion the train. The Cinemaway is named after one of the companies that around 1909 introduced in Spain the possibility of experiencing from a hall the feeling of traveling by train, which had been spread from the Paris Universal Exhibition (1900) and, mainly from the one in Sant Lois (1904) with the experience of the Hales Tours. In addition, that initiative, which has been joined by the Ateneo Mercantil and the Valencian Film Library, is one of the activities scheduled for the Setmana del Corredor Mediterrani.

- 5 November at 12.30h the inauguration of the display “Carteles y raíles” in the exhibition room of the Ateneo Mercantil in Valencia. This exhibition presents the presence of the train in the cinema though posters, leaflets, and media guides following a chronological, where work from different genre (western, comedy, thriller, animation) and from different origins. The exhibition will be open until 11 November at the Ateneo Mercantil in Valencia and from the 13 November at the lobby of the Estación del norte.

- 6 November at 18.00h will begin the cycle of conferences “El Tren en el cine” at the Ateneo Mercantil in Valencia, with the participation of Áurea Ortiz (Universitat de València). 7 November will take place the contributions of José Antonio Hurtado (Head of the scheduling of the Film Library of the Valencian Culture Institute); Carlos Cuéllar (Universitat de València) and the 8 November, Carlos Losilla (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) will close the cycle. After the last conference, the video-essay awards will be delivered.

- On the same 6 November a cycle of cinema with the title “Protagonista el tren, 30 años después” and related to the same project will start at the Valencian Film Library.
