The king of copla left a legacy of music, fashion, cinema, transgession and avant-garde. In this special episode, we will delve into his career while celebrating the 'Miguel de Molina: Yo quiero ser diferente' exhibition. From his poor upbringing through his rivalries and great hits ('La bien pagá', 'Ojos verdes', 'Te lo juro yo'...), we will dive into a passionate life of talent and fight to be true to oneself.
The exhibition curators will participate in the episode, as well as a special guest: vedette and vintage transvestite La Bella Vampi, Drag Race Spain 4th season finalist.
Lidia García is a University of Murcia Doctor in Art History, with her thesis about copla and camp practices. National award winner of the 15th Contest of Introduction to Scientific Research of the Ministry of Education. She collaborates with Televisión Española programme Cine de Barrio, Radio Nacional de España Mañana más, and Cadena SER La Ventana. Her second book Tarantela sevillana is born from her research scholarship at the Real Academia de España in Rome.
At 6:00 p.m., before the episode, exhibition curators Stéphanie Demange and Laurie-Anne Laget will offer a guided visit to 'Miguel de Molina: Yo quiero ser diferente'.
