“L'altra cara de la vida - Cultura funerària” (The other face of life- Funerary Culture, past and present) is an exhibition which makes a tour from the Paleolithic until our current times on how Mediterranean cultures have understood funerary rituals and the grave goods which were elaborated and utilized for this purpose. The exhibition, organized by “Group Memora”, includes more than a hundred of original funerary archaeological exhibits used throughout history, mainly, in the Iberian Peninsula. Its main goal, apart from approaching to people and making them know about the evolution of the mortuary culture in the Mediterranean, is fostering a critic and reflexive spirit about the view of death as another face of life. It also aims to provide means in order to understand and to study the funerary culture in a close and entertaining way.
Through the exhibition are addressed five historic spheres : Prehistory, ancient history, the Classical World, Iberian Peninsula and the Present; and it also has interactive panels so as to make concepts associations. A space for reflection with bibliography is also set out for those who want to go in depth in the culture and funerary rituals from the viewpoint of Archaeology and History. The exhibition responds to the commitment to social responsibility of the company which aims the citizenship to integrate death as a part of life.
