The value of the banal: about now and here

We are attracted to the sudden, the urgent; and it is imposed to our way of life. As there is not much time, it looks like it has to be spent on banalities. In those banalities lies the meaning of life and its mysteries.

The Josep Lluís Blasco Estellés Chair for Philosophy and Citizenship aims to build a forum where the two highest vocations of Josep Lluís Blasco chair -philosophic and civic- find a point of convergence. The goal is to make
citizens feel interested about Philosophy through the exposition of the most urgent social problems to philosophers and thinkers’ reflections and then transfer this contemplation to society.
