
6th Edition for the PPECREA Awards Ceremony (Call)
The yearly Public Valencian Universities for Creation Awards (PRECREA) ceremony gather the university community and the Valencian cultural sector, highlighting the commitment of public universities with creation, innovation and promotion of culture as the social progress engine.
Valencian public universities give these awards for five categories, cultural work of people, collectives or institutions for particular work or action, as well as relevant career.
Award Winners
Carles Santos Award for Dramatic Arts (Universitat de València): The winner is the polivalent artist Marcos Morau: director, coreographer, and scene, wardrobe and illumination artist with long education and career. His work mark is the dialogue between different artistic languages and the hybridation of dance and theatre.
José M.ª Yturralde Award for Design and Technological Innovation (UPV): The winner is Sirope Lab, a study by Luisa Tovar Méndez and Alba Martínez Roberto recognised for its contribution to graphic design, visual narrative and technological experimentation with institution and brand projects on national and international level.
Isabel-Clara Simó Award for Literary Creation (University of Alicante): The winner is Rodolf Vicent Sirera Turó, essential author to Valencian literature and drama, with a broad and awarded work in theatre, narrative, essay and audiovisual script.
Matilde Salvador Award for Music (Jaume I University): David Pastor Campos was awarded ex aequo along with the Spanish Brass quintet in recognition to their national and international careers in metal, performance, paedagogy and musical creation.
Juana Francés Award for Visual and Plastic Arts (UMH): The winner is Carmen Calvo. renowned concept artist whose work presents a critical dialogue between memory, identity and collective imagination and lies in museums and collections.
Additional to the category prizes and after the first five years of this joint initiative, organisers have agreed in giving a Honorable Metion to València Belles Arts Museum head Pablo González Tornel for his solidary and remarkable management for the institution. Under his leadership, the museum has ensured its role in the artistic patrimony dialogue and dissemination, promoting innovative exhibitions and strengthenning its bonds with society while becoming a culutral reference for the Valencian Community and the national scene.
Senate Role
The ceremony will include a performance by Julián Hackenberg, interdisciplinary creator working in theatre, sound and language. His work translates events into sensory spacesm exploring presence as a shared experience. His intervention will most surely leave a moment of emotion and connection complementing the cultural excelence celebrated at the PRECREA Awards. (More information)
