Jasmine, a rich and glamourous woman of the New York high society, suddenly find herself penniless and homeless. Then, she decides to move in San Francisco to live with her sister, Ginger, a working class woman who lives with her partner in a small apartment. Jasmine, who is going through the most critical moment of her life, devotes her time in taking antidepressants and remembering her former life in Manhattan.
