At dawn on March 7, 2022, the rectory of the University of Valencia received the first bus with 52 Ukrainian refugees arriving in Valencia, evacuated and transferred by the Juntos por la Vida Foundation. Their journey had begun in villages and cities in the Ukraine from where they left for a destination in search of Life and Peace. On March 1, photojournalist Benito Pajares arrived in Przemysl on the Polish border with a small group of volunteers from the NGO Juntos por la Vida, who did not hesitate to travel there when the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army began. His spirit of solidarity prompted him to leave to collaborate as a volunteer in the evacuation and transfer of refugees.

The exodus of thousands of people began, mostly women with children, in search of a safe place, without alarms, without bombs. Their looks, the sadness, the desolation, the rage, the pain, the cold, the fear, the uncertain future and the emotions and feelings that their faces revealed, were captured in the photographs that are shown in this exhibition Destiny: life, of those who sought life fleeing the war, through the photographic chronicle of Benito Pajares.
