La esfera del agua

Palacio de Cerveró. Manuela Solís room.

The exhibition La esfera de agua (The water sphere) introduces visitors to the world of water, since its chemical properties to its role in history and human civilization. The exhibition has been produced by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and Aqualogy, as a part of the International Year of Cooperation, at one of the rooms of the Palau de Cerveró of the University of Valencia. The exhibition composed of twenty panels is structured in two sections. The first, Aigua I Naturalessa (Water and Nature), follows the hydrological cycle, its relation with the climate and ecosystems. The second, Aigua I Societat (Water and Society), explores the influence of humans on the natural cycle of water, its pollution, as well as the solutions for accessing to drinking water, without forgetting the relation of water with history, health and technology. The contents of the exhibition have been developed by researchers who are working on the search for answers and solutions in the sphere of water: Antoni Ginebreda (scientist curator), Joan Grimalt, Francesc Gallart, Jesús Carrera, Damiá Barceló and Rafael Rodríguez Clemente, who belong to the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Studies (IDAEA), and the CSIC; as well as Luís Calvo, from the Milà I Fontanals institution (CSIC) and institutional coordinator of the CSIC in Catalonia.
