Pyrgopolynices is a soldier as cocky as he is unbearable, convinced that the entire world is in love with him. He has abducted Philocomasium… without realizing that her heart still belongs to Pleusicles.
Thanks to Palaestrio, a slave who is cleverer than he is honest, a storm of lies and tricks is unleashed, aimed at attacking the soldier’s most vulnerable point: his gigantic ego.
The result is a wild comedy of misunderstandings in which intelligence triumphs over brute force and the braggart ends up, as he should, making a fool of himself in front of everyone.
