Neurona FEST

Dissemination of youth culture through ICT

Neurona FEST is a festival with the desire to transmit knowledge. It hopes to inspire students of the Universitat de València by initiating contact with disseminators and influencers from different areas of knowledge. With this goal in mind, the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture has launched this project that falls within the 3rd edition of the Cultuviva festival.

We live in an economy of attention. We are constantly receiving messages and stimuli from a wide variety of sources. On the internet, there are tens of thousands of ‘content creators’. So many, in fact, that we have to filter all of this content in order to detect what is most advantageous. Neurona FEST applies its own filter, selecting creators capable of articulating interesting messages based on scientific criteria to offer UV students, quality creators who speak their native language.

Universities generate knowledge. Disseminating this knowledge is in their DNA. Neurona FEST aspires to awake the spirit of dissemination among the student body. We hope that contact with established Instagrammers and YouTubers, with millions of followers and subscribers, will inspire our students. We hope they will consider entering into this difficult but appreciated would of social media dissemination.

When, where and how?

The 1st edition of Neurona FEST will take place from 1 to 7 October throughout the four Universitat de València campuses: Blasco Ibáñez, Tarongers, Ontinyent and Burjassot. On each campus, there will be a meet-and-greet session with the influencers that will end with a performance.

These individuals were selected and divided among the campuses based on the degrees studied at each one. So, students will have the opportunity to hear influencers speak about the subject areas studied on each campus and be inspired.

First, they will talk about their areas of specialty, followed by an interview-style segment with a moderator who will ask them a series of questions, such as: why they decided to start a social media profile, how they select and create content, what difficulties they have encountered, as well as other questions that might interest the students and inspire them to become content creators.
