The acting legacy of Buster Keaton. A hundred years since The General

Playtime, Jacques Tati, 1967

Presentation: Adela Cortijo

A group of American tourists make a trip to Europe, with the idea of visiting a capital city each day. When arriving to Paris, they notice that the airport looks exactly the same as the one in Rome, the roads are identical as the one in Hamburg, and that the lampposts have a curious resemblance with the ones of New York. In short, the setting does not change from one city to another. Since they are not able to visit Paris, they will have to settle for spending 24 hours with real Parisians, Monsieur Hulot among them.
