Comic day. Faculty of Social Sciences
Sociocomic 2026
Comic Day
Sociocómic, the comics gathering of the Faculty of Social Sciences directed by Jordi Giner and organized together with the Aula de Cómic y Cultura en los Campus, returns with a new edition. This event aims to study comics as a tool for social intervention and encourages meetings and discussion with authors known for creating works with a strong social commitment.
This year’s event will feature Sento Llobell and Elena Uriel, authors of Días sin escuela (Astiberri), a work that denounces the massacres of the Bosnian War through the powerful story of a child, creating a clear reflection of the situation we are experiencing today.
Meanwhile, Lignit, by Emma Casadevall (Finestres), recounts the impact of coal mining in the Berguedà region through five generations. This work, which received a special mention for emerging talent at the Finestres Prize for Comics in Catalan 2024, explores the lives of miners and the women of the area.
