International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites at the Universitat de València
Upon proposal of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), in 1982 the 18th April was appointed by the UNESCO as the International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites. The objective is to raise awareness on the diversity of human cultural heritage, its vulnerability and the necessary efforts for its protection and preservation
as an element of collective identity.
The Universitat de València has a rich and diverse cultural immovable heritage. For instance, the building of Nau and the Botanical Garden have the highest legal recognition as Bien de Interés Cultural from 1981 and 2006, respectively.
