Conference which serves as a meeting between local authority, Social Enterprises and University
The research project of the University Institute on Social and Cooperative Economics (Iudescoop), University of Valencia (IUDESCOOP) funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness "Regulatory factors and public policy in the Social Business Success." (Ref. DER2012-39223-C02-01), organized the conference "Social Economy and Local Government: challenges and Opportunities", to be held in the building of the University of Valencia, C / Nau, 1, on September 26, 2013.
Among the activities to be carried the project it is the investigation of the challenges and opportunities of the social economy as an instrument of local employment policy and public service delivery and public participation in these entities.
The conference will have two parts: the theoretical lectures will be held tomorrow on the issues that researchers have detected could be key to the question. In the afternoon they will go to practice: there will be a meeting between all stakeholders: Entities of the social economy and representative organizations, city councils - both councilors and technical-Secretaries-Controllers, the regional Government, University researchers, development Local agents, etc. They will try to detect problems and capture the suggestions. It will be conducted in 4 thematic panels where are invited to participate all the attendees. All this in order to prepare a White Paper to improve the capacity of cooperatives and other entities of the social economy to generate employment and local services.
