ANNOUNCEMENT: Cycle of conferences ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE: SOIL, WATER AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

Within the framework of the CSIC connection, ArchaeologyHub.CSIC, the Desertification Research Centre (CIDE, CSIC-UV-GVA) and the Institute of History Center for Human and Social Sciences (CSIC), organize the series of conferences: ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE: SOIL, WATER AND CULTURAL HERITAGE.

The cycle is proposed with the aim of visualizing the CONNECTION between archaeological, historical, environmental and heritage sciences in the study of the territory and, specifically, in its anthropization by agricultural activity. Among others, aspects related to: i) The edaphic characteristics and the agrological capacity of soils in the surroundings of human settlements; ii) The evaluation of water resource management techniques in agriculture (catchment, storage, distribution, wetland drying, etc.); iii) The valorization of the cultural heritage associated with all this activity (dry stone terraces, waterwheels, water mines, etc.) will be discussed.

The conferences will take place on Tuesday September 28 and Wednesday October 26 at the Casa de la Ciencia del CSIC, and on Wednesday November 2 at the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Geography and History of the Universitat de València.
