Exploring Qualitative Case Study Research in Business and Management

A workshop on qualitative methodology, titled “Exploring Qualitative Case Study Research in Business and Management”, will be held next Thursday 30th November at the Department of Business and Management “Juan José Renau Piqueras”. This workshop has been organised by the ACEDE-Early Career Network in collaboration with the research team INGLOBEST from the Department of Business and Management (with support from the GVA project CIAICO/2022/065).

The workshop will delve into the uniqueness of qualitative research and will provide an overview of case study research in management and organization studies. The aim is to go over the qualitative case study under different ontological assumptions, as well as their methodological implications. The workshop will also include a brief, more practical exercise, or reflection. The lecturer is the PhD candidate Giulia Galizzi, from the University of Vienna. Currently, Giulia Galizzi is in the third year of her doctorate. Her thesis deals with family firms’ internationalization and network embeddedness processes and employs qualitative research methods mainly. Giulia Galizzi teaches at the University of Vienna and is member of the Chair of International Business, in the department of Marketing and International Business at the same university. The chair of this research team is Univ.-Prof. PhD Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki, a worldwide well-known expert on qualitative methodology and supervisor of Giulia Galizzi’s PhD dissertation.
