Abstract:
This doctoral thesis is based on the action research method characterized by a double purpose: the resolution of a practical problem and the generation of scientific knowledge. The work is structured in three parts and six chapters. The first part includes methodological recommendations from four fields, regarding: change management, the action research method, organizational justice and trust, and the temporal dimension. In the second part we describe the action research carried out and the third part contains the results and conclusions achieved. The main goal identified is the design of a measurement method, based on a system of indicators, weightings, and indices, through participatory action research. This method has been applied at the University of Valencia, as a support tool in allocation decisions, covering the activity of 75% of the administration and services staff.
