Abstract
The thesis explores the interrelationship between prior capabilities (skills, knowledge and personality characteristics) and the identification of business opportunities. Examines two training methods for identifying business opportunities, Creative Problem Solving and Design Thinking, using PLS-SEM. Contradictory findings regarding the relationship between prior capabilities and the identification of business opportunities are clarified and understanding of the impact of training methods is improved. It is found that the Type of Training acts as a moderating variable in the direct relationships between Evaluation and judgment, Network Coordination, Dispositional Optimism, with respect to the Identification of Business Opportunities, contributing to the research that suggests that training can modify cognitive processes and improve the ability to generate more ideas, and their quality with respect to originality and feasibility
