Doctoral Programme in Social Economy (Cooperatives and non-profit entities)

To certify specific training in research methodology
in social sciences and research theories in social economy, and
to certify the development of a research project in Master’s degrees or doctoral studies
who have been assessed positively. This criterion
will be considered accomplished when applicants have completed the Master’s Degree in Social Economy (Cooperatives
Non Profit Entities) of the University of Valencia, and if this includes specific
training in research methodology in social sciences and theories and
research lines in social economy as well as the development of a research project
related to social economy, social companies or non profit
entities (this Master’s Degree will be named hereinafter Research Master’s Degree
in Social Economy). Those students who came from other similar
Master’s Degrees are required to take the bridging courses established by
the Doctoral Studies Academic Committee, which consist of specific
research methodology in social sciences and theories and research
lines in social economy as well as to certify the development of a research
project related to social economy, social companies or non profit
entities, which have been positively assessed
by an assessment committee composed of doctors.
The students who fulfil the requirements will entry the doctoral programme
, and the Doctoral Studies Academic Committee will be
the responsible for verifying the compliance of the above requirements for the admission of
the applicant.
The following rating scale will be applied by the Committee for the selection of applicants
to the doctoral programme:
30% interview to the student, guaranteeing equality, merit and ability, which will
assess the adaptation of the profile recommended; an objective assessment of research and social economy knowledge;
25% academic record of the Undergraduate Degree;
45% Academic record of the Master’s Degree.
In any case preference will be given,-if the number of application forms
is higher to the number of places-, to those students who certify that they have
completed the Research Master’s Degree mentioned above.
