The Permanent Board of the Doctoral School has the competencies that delegated to the Steering Committee, according to the established on the fifth article of the Internal Regulations of the Doctoral School, passed through the agreement 97/2014, of the Governing Council, of 24 June.

By virtue of this regulatory implementation, the Steering Committee of the School, through the Agreement of 5 October 2015 (DOCV 30.10.2015) passed the delegation of the following functions in the Permanent Board:

  • Appointing the extern evaluators as well as the courts to judge doctoral thesis.
  • Resolving the complaints related to the conflicts that arise regarding the agents involved in the development of the doctoral studies programme.
  • Appointing the advisory commissions that will value the applications submitted for the Extraordinary Doctorate Awards.
  • Proposing to the Governing Council the scale of the Extraordinary Doctorate Awards as well as the applicants for the doctorate awards.
  • Informing the Steering Committee on the propositions of the applicants as honorary doctors.
  • Ruling the proposals of regulations on doctoral studies.

The Permanent Board can refer to the decision of the Steering Committee the interceding of the delegated competence on those records that due to their significance, or due to posing problems or special issues, considered convenient.

Regularly the Steering Committee will be informed on the exercise of the faculties to which the current Agreement refers.

In the decisions made in the use of delegations within the current Agreement, this circumstance will be expressly recorded.
