The RD 486/1997 14 April 1997 (BOE 23 April 1997), its Annex VI states that there should be a first-aid kit in every working place, where the following first-aid material can be found:
- Authorised disinfectants and antiseptics (alcohol and/or hydrogen peroxide and/or mercurochrome)
- Sterile gauzes
- Cotton wool
- Bandages
- Plasters
- Sticking-plasters
- Scissors
- Tweezers
- Non-reusable gloves
This material should be checked periodically, and the missing elements, because of the use or because they have expired, will be requested to the corresponding health office.
Recommendations
- Alcohol, considered as an irritant substance, it is not advisable to use it as antiseptic.
- Mercurochrome is replaced by Betadine.
