The purpose of this publication, addressed to University of Valencia’s staff, is to make public the possible risks that exist in workplaces related to gardening, phytosanitary treatments and high-altitude pruning and transport vehicles, and recommending a series of actions to allow safe behaviours throughout the workday, and thus protect the person’s safety and health and those of their peers.

The Law 31/1995 for occupational risks prevention highlights, as a fundamental basis for establishing an appropriate level of worker’s safety and health protection, the information on the risks deriving from work.
The aim of this publication, addressed to the University of Valencia’s staff, is to make public the possible risks that exist in workplaces related to the workshop, recommend a series of actions that allow safe behaviours during the workday and, thus, protect the person’s safety and health and those of the collective.
Occupational risk is the possibility of a worker to suffer certain damage as a consequence of their job.
Damages are diseases, pathologies or lesions caused by undertaking a work.
Prevention is the set of activities or measures undertaken or planned in every stage of the company’s activity, in order to prevent or reduce the risks rate deriving from work.
Safety signposting
It is a signal that, referring to a specific object, activity or situation, provides an indication or obligation related to safety or health in the workplace through a signal under the form of a board, colour, light or acoustic signal, as appropriate.
