Advances in the CALIFIBER Project: Continuous Analysis of Water Quality through Fiber Optic

  • October 28th, 2024
Advances in the CALIFIBER Project

🗓 In this second year of development, we have made significant progress in the continuous detection of various water quality parameters using sensors made of fiber optics.

💧 The need to continuously monitor water quality in drinking water supply systems remains fundamental. In this context, the CALIFIBER project advances towards its objective of developing an innovative system that allows precise monitoring of the physical-chemical parameters of water, from its production to its delivery.

This initiative is essential to guarantee efficient and quality management of our natural resources throughout the entire process.

🗓 In this second year of development, we have made significant progress in the continuous detection of various water quality parameters using sensors made of fiber optics. These sensors, installed inside the pipes, allow real-time monitoring of the state of the water in the supply network, thus ensuring the delivery of drinking water in adequate quantity and quality for all users.

💶 CALIFIBER continues to be a project co-financed by the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation IVACE +i (Generalitat Valenciana) and the European Union through the Operational Program of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the Valencian Community 2021-2027 (INNEST/2023 /52).
