Biography | ||
|
María López Rubio holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the Universitat Jaume I (Castelló, 2017) and a Master's degree in Medical Translation from the same university (2018). During her BA studies, she received a collaboration grant in the audiovisual translation research group TRAMA, led by Professor Frederic Chaume Varela. She was awarded the final-year prize (2017) by Universitat Jaume I, the extraordinary Capitanía General de València prize (2017) for the best academic records, and the Ernest Breva prize (2013-2017) for her academic career. Additionally, she received the First Prize in the Arts and Humanities category in the National End-of-Degree Awards for University Education, awarded by the Ministry of Universities to the best records of the 2016-2017 academic year. She has worked in audiovisual accessibility services at the Valencian regional television channel À Punt Mèdia, where she carried out subtitling tasks for people with hearing disabilities and audio description for people with visual disabilities. Thanks to two pre-doctoral contracts (Atracció del Talent from the Universitat de València and a FPU contract from the Spanish Ministry of Universities), she worked as a researcher and teaching fellow in the Department of English and German Philology at the Universitat de València, where she was also a member of the CiTrans research group. She holds a PhD in Languages, Literatures, Cultures, and their Applications from the Universitat de València with international mention and cum laude qualification. Her dissertation, supervised by Professors Beatriz Cerezo Merchán and Juan José Martínez Sierra, explores the challenges of audio description in the humorous genre. She has presented her work at conferences such as Media for All 9, SELM, IALIC (International Association for Languages & Intercultural Communication), and the PluriTAV International Conference. Since January 2024, she has been the director and editor of the Estudis Filològics i de Traducció journal, a publication of the Universitat de València which provides a space for scientific dissemination for novice researchers. She has collaborated on numerous occasions with the Texte Image Langage lab at the Université de Bourgogne Europe (Dijon, France), where she has carried out several research stays. She currently combines her professional work in the private sector with her teaching and research activities at Universitat de València and Universitat Jaume I. |

PhD on Catalan Philology. She is a Catalan language teacher at the Department of Language and Literature Education at the University of Valencia. She also instructs teacher training courses and workshops. She supervises Practicum and TFG at Early Years Education and Primary Education’s Degree, and also teaches and supervises TFM at the MA in Secondary Education Teaching. From 2015 to 2019 she has been director of Allioli, Quaderns de l’Ensenyament del País Valencià (ISSN 1576-0197), founded in 1979, with a circulation of 21.000 copies distributed among Valencian teachers and schools of all educational levels. She is one of the members of the Research Group in Teaching of Languages (GIEL, http://grupogiel.com/) and Unitat d’Educació Multilingüe (UEM) at the University of Valencia, and also is a member of Un entre tants, a cooperative network about ICT educational experiences in Catalan language, of the International Association of Catalan Language and Literature (AILLC) and the Spanish Society of Didactics of Language and Literature (SEDLL). Her research fields include language and literature teaching, ICT as an educational resource, language education in multilingual environments, work for projects and grammar teaching. She has participated in several research projects about writing difficulties, linguistic autobiography, teaching practices, oral Catalan teaching and learning, and improvised oral poetry, among others. She has coordinated various educational innovation projects: TIC, TAC, TAP. Maria Morant Giner is a Research Fellow in the Department of Spanish Philology at the University of Valencia. In this department she is currently performing her Postdoctoral Orientation Period, after defending her doctoral thesis “Los héroes han muerto: usos y reescrituras de los mitos grecolatinos en el teatro chileno de postdictadura (1990-2009)”. Throughout her training period she has taught different subjects in the Hispanic Studies Degree such as Contemporary Theatrical Texts (35533), Contemporary Hispanic American Readings (35530) or the Spanish Novel of the 19th Century (35528).
